Grass Growth
Daily grass growth across GB saw a decline this week to an average of 33.3kg DM/ha/day, a figure similar to the same period last year of 35kg DM/ha/day yet below the 6-year average of 38kg DM/ha/day. As we move into wetter and colder conditions at the end of the grazing season, it is important to maintain good grassland management, which will support spring grass quality at turnout.
Management may include the monitoring of sward heights to ensure target entry and residual covers are achieved, managing rotation lengths, paddocks within a rotation and stocking densities
