NWF Feeds has further strengthened the executive team with the appointment of Rupert Phillips as Managing Director, who will lead the NWF Feeds business under which NWF Agriculture and New Breed UK operate. Rupert brings a wealth of commercial and management expertise from previous companies, including Pipers Crisps, Greencore, and most recently Spectrum Brands, owners of a portfolio of well-known pet brands.
Andrew Downie, current Managing Director of NWF Agriculture, will retire in August, with Rob Warrington succeeding him in this role as NWF Agriculture’s Managing Director. Rupert has a strong management background and will be focused on the development and delivery of a farmer-first strategy focused on supplying high-quality ruminant feed and associated products, supported by technical expertise.
Commenting on his appointment, “Changing roles is never easy, however the opportunity at NWF is the perfect step in my career. The opportunities within NWF, and the wider agricultural sector offer an array of exciting challenges. I have always seen British agriculture as a pivotal element in the UK economy and ecosystem so the chance to work directly in the sector was a huge draw.” says Rupert.
“The NWF team is well positioned to support the needs of our farmers, with high-quality feeds that perform and expertise on livestock nutrition. I look forward to building on the expertise of our employees, strengthening the investment made in our production sites and streamlining our processes. We want to continue to grow and innovate alongside our farmers, creating a more profitable and sustainable outlook for British agriculture,” adds Rupert, who will report to Chris Belsham, Chief Executive Officer of NWF Group.
NWF Feeds is a national manufacturer and distributor of high-quality dairy, beef and sheep feeds. The business supplies over 5,000 farms from Scotland to Cornwall, with strategically located UFAS-approved production sites.
