Grasswatch 27.04.18

Following the recent warm weather, the average grass growth has increased to 68kg DM/ha/day. As growth is increasing, quality is starting to reduce and this in addition to the wetter conditions in the latter of the week has impacted MYFG.  The average MYFG has decreased by 2.3 litres to M+ 4.63 litres. This has been influenced by multiple factors such as fall in grass dry matter and reduction in ME.

The reduction in quality highlights the need to closely monitor grass, especially grass to shut off for silage over the next month.
