Molasses

Molasses and molasses based liquid feeds can be an invaluable ingredient in ruminant diets helping to cost-effectively manage performance from home grown forage and purchased feeds. Molasses based products combine sugar energy sources with a range of protein levels to balance the overall diet.

Molasses based products have been shown to:

  • Improve animal performance by increasing overall dry matter intakes
  • Stimulate DMI by upto 10%
  • Increase starch and fibre digestion
  • Increase overall diet palatability
  • Provide a cost effective source of sugar which stimulates rumen function
  • Replace expensive starch to increase milk protein and butterfat
  • Enhances ration performance by filling the energy gap
