Energy is a very important element in a dairy diet. It is the fuel in which all rumen function is started, and therefore the foundation of milk production.

 

The amount of energy required in a dairy cow diet is dependant on the production target of the cows in question and is assessed through our RPM rationing program. Farm factors such as feeds available, forage quality and availability, milk contract targets will all have an impact. The type of energy supplied is a key factor as rumen health must be optimised at all times.
