Compounds
Compound feeds have been at the forefront in the development of modern ruminant farming systems. Originally designed to allow higher intakes of a balanced feed during milking or to simplify feeding of beef cattle and sheep, they now represent a flexible way to tailor the diets of today’s high genetic potential ruminants.
At NWF we produce in excess of 350,000 tonnes of ruminant compounds every year – 250,000 at our Wardle Mill in Cheshire and 100,000 tonnes at Wixland in Devon. Every tonne is produced with the same attention to detail, quality and integrity to ensure you are getting the best possible feed for your animals.
Having formulated a ration to deliver the nutrients required we constantly monitor the quality and analysis of all ingredients to ensure the compound is of a consistent feed value. We invest heavily in quality assurance and all feeds are produced to the standards required by UFAS.
Our aim is always to provide compounds that are best suited to the needs of today’s livestock and our team of nutritionists continuously look to improve the specification and effectiveness of our feeds. They also have an extensive network of researchers and nutritionists in the UK, Europe and the USA and we share the latest information on animal requirements and feed ingredients.
We have an extensive range of compounds tailored to suit the wide variety of systems used to produce milk, beef and lamb. Whichever NWF compound you choose, you can be assured you are buying a high quality, safe, nutritionally proven feed for your animals.
